CruzPay Furlough/Salary Reduction Information

Dear CruzPay User,

You are receiving this email because you are participating in the Furlough/Salary Reduction Program or are the supervisor of a participating employee. Please be advised that CruzPay will be updated to accommodate the Furlough/Salary Reduction program on October 1, 2009.

A new Furlough SR Taken paycode has been added and should be used whenever you are reporting furlough hours on your timesheet. You will use and record furlough hours exactly as you would vacation (exempt employees in whole day increments and non-exempt employees in 1/4 hour increments) using this new paycode.

Your furlough accrual hours will be fed to CruzPay from the Payroll/Personnel System (PPS) monthly and can be accessed via the Time Off Balance screen in the “Furlough SR Bank” section. Note: unlike vacation hours, which accrue in CruzPay throughout the month as you record time, furlough hours will only accrue once a month when they are loaded from the PPS system. By the 6th working day of each month, hours accrued during the previous month will be updated in CruzPay. (This first month, September’s accrual will be loaded by October 26th.)

You may also track your furlough hours used during a particular month on the Time Off Balance screen. If you are borrowing accrual hours in advance, an exception message will advise you that your bank has a negative balance. Once you have taken all your allotted furlough hours for the program year, CruzPay will stop you from recording any more.

Management reports will be available in Data Warehouse to assist in identifying furlough accrual and usage thresholds.
