11/16/2009 – CruzPay server maintenance

Routine system maintenance was performed on 11/15/09.  Our verification tests were all positive; however, if you see any anomalies in your use of CruzPay, please let us know immediately at cruzpay_help@ucsc.edu

11/02/09 - Supervisor Late Approval E-mail

Many staff supervisors received a CruzPay system e-mail on 10/31/09 indicating September timesheet approval was past due. This e-mail was generated due to a CruzPay system error, and should be disregarded. September 2009 timesheets have all been processed. We apologize for this error, and continue to work with the CruzPay vendor to determine the cause. Supervisors can expect to receive the normally scheduled system e-mail reminder later this week for any unapproved October timesheets.

10/22/09 - September Furlough Hours Accrued Are Now in CruzPay

Furlough hours accrued for the month of September have been fed to CruzPay from the Payroll/Personnel System (PPS) for furlough-eligible employees.  You can view this information by clicking the Time Off Balance option on the Timesheet screen.  The accrued hours are also listed on your September timesheet using the system-generated "Furlough SR Accrued" paycode.  In the future, we plan to load monthly accrued furlough hours by the 6th business day of the subsequent month.  (For example, hours accrued for October 2009 will be loaded into CruzPay by November 9, 2009.)

10/13/09 - CruzPay Back Online

CruzPay is now back online and available for your regular use.

10/12/09 - CruzPay Unavailable 10/13 5:00 AM - 7:00 AM

CruzPay will be unavailable on Tuesday 10/13/2009 from 5:00 am - 7:00 am for infrastructure updates needed to load furlough accrual hours later this month.  CruzPay users will be unable to access the system during this time.  We expect the system to be back online by 7:00 am. Updates will be posted to this website. We regret any inconvenience.

09/30/09 - Furlough/Salary Reduction Program in CruzPay

CruzPay has been updated with a new pay code to allow employees participating in the Furlough/Salary Reduction Program to report their furlough hours.  The "Furlough SR Taken" pay code is available from the Pay Code dropdown menu on your timesheet.   Further details on using the furlough paycode are available here For additional assistance, please contact us at cruzpay_help@ucsc.edu.

*** IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SEPTEMBER FURLOUGH HOURS REPORTING ***
Employees reporting furlough hours in CruzPay for September will receive a warning message when their timesheet is saved indicating that their balance is negative.  This warning occurs because the accrued furlough hours for the month of September have not yet been loaded into CruzPay, as that process is still under development.  We expect to load September accrued hours into CruzPay by 10/26/09.  This warning message will not affect submission or processing of your timesheet.

09/29/09 - CruzPay Back Online

CruzPay is now back online and available for your regular use.  We have been experiencing occasional time-out errors since this morning's maintenance, although the vendor's technical team has not been able to determine a cause.  At this time, it appears the errors have ceased; however, please let us know at cruzpay_help@ucsc.edu if you experience any time-out errors while using CruzPay.

We are also continuing with the implementation of Furlough/Salary Reduction Program functionality, which will be available for your use on 10/01/09. We have encountered some difficulty with bringing the CruzPay system back on-line and are working with the vendor to resolve as quickly as possible.

09/22/09 - CruzPay Unavailable 09/29 5:00 AM - 12:00 PM

CruzPay will be unavailable on Tuesday 9/29/2009 from 5:00 am - 12:00 pm for implementation of Furlough/Salary Reduction Program functionality.  CruzPay users will be unable to access the system during this time.  We expect the system to be back online by 12:00 pm. 09/01/09 - Furlough/Salary Reduction Information

Employees looking for more information regarding the Furlough/Salary Reduction Program should visit the UCSC website (http://www.ucsc.edu/budget_update) dedicated to campus and systemwide budget updates. In addition, Staff Human Resources and the Academic Personnel Office will be providing more information regarding the tracking and reporting of furlough hours in the weeks to come. 08/04/09 - Attention Staff Supervisors

If you have received a reminder email today to approve your employees timesheet, you will notice that July 4 is referenced as a holiday. This year the holiday day was observed on July 3. We apologize for any confusion.

06/08/09 - CruzPay Connectivity Problems - Resolved

We have received confirmation from the vendor that the system error which caused connectivity issues has been resolved.  CruzPay is available for your use.  If you experience any performance issues with CruzPay, please let us know.  Thank you.

06/05/09 - CruzPay Connectivity Problems

As of approximately 1:15pm, users are experiencing connectivity problems and slowness when accessing CruzPay. We are in contact with the vendor and will let you know as soon as we have resolution. Please check back regularly for the latest status update. Thank you for your continued patience.

05/08/09 – CruzPay Technical Enhancements

On May 11 we will be making several technical enhancements to CruzPay that modify the way data is imported, processed, and stored within the system.  These changes should be transparent to the end user.  CruzPay availability will not be impacted by this work; you may continue to log in and report your hours as normal.  However, if you do notice anything out of the ordinary with your timesheet, please contact cruzpay_help@ucsc.edu and we will promptly investigate.

04/23/09 - Login Problems Resolved

The nightly CruzPay feed from the Payroll system on 04/22/09 has reset all User ID's that had been previously incorrect.  Users should be able to login today with no issues.  If you continue to have difficulty logging into CruzPay today, please contact cruzpay_help@ucsc.edu for assistance.  We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.

04/22/09 - Potential Login Problems

There was a minor problem with the nightly CruzPay feeds from the Payroll system on 4/21/09, and a small number of CruzPay User ID's were inadvertently changed.  We are working on the problem and expect that all will be corrected in tonight's feed.  If you do have trouble logging into CruzPay today, please contact cruzpay_help@ucsc.edu for assistance.  We regret any inconvenience.

03/06/09 - CruzPay System Stable

We have had no reports of connectivity issues in the past 48 hours.  The vendor analysis reports the system is stable.  Please contact us if you experience any issues accessing or using CruzPay.  We appreciate your assistance and support.

03/05/09 - CruzPay Connection Status

11:00 am

We have had no reports of connectivity issues in the past 24 hours.  Please continue to access CruzPay to perform time reporting and approval duties.  We remain on alert for any system problems.   Thank you for your assistance and support.

03/04/09 - CruzPay Connection Problems Continue

The CruzPay vendor has resolved the issue that caused performance degradation this morning around 10:00 am.  They continue to work on longterm resolution of the underlying issues that have created the slowness and timeouts many users have experienced over the past few days.  Until final resolution is achieved, please be advised that we expect the system to be more responsive after 2:00 pm each day, when there is less load on the vendor's system overall.

02/26/09 - CruzPay Connectivity Problems

2:30 PM update

Users are advised to continue trying to log on to CruzPay, even though they may continue to experience connectivity problems and slowness throughout the rest of today.
The vendor is currently preparing a fix that will be applied late tonight.
Please check back on 02/27/09 when we will post an announcement to confirm if the connectivity problems have been resolved completely.

01/09/09 - Student Timesheet Reminder Email

The timesheet submit reminders sent to student employees by CruzPay early this morning incorrectly indicated that your January timesheet is due on the 15th of this month, instead of the correct deadline of the 23rd.  Although December timesheets were due earlier than normal, in January the deadline returns to the 23rd.
We apologize for this error.  A timesheet submit reminder e-mail will be sent on January 21st to any students with unsubmitted timesheets.  Please contact us with any questions.

12/22/2008 - CruzPay Access/Support during Campus Closure

8/29/08 - Labor Day Holiday

8/27/08 - CruzPay Welcomes Student Affairs Staff!

Student Affairs staff employees will begin using CruzPay for the September 2008 pay period.  Click here for detailed information on this rollout. Student Affairs staff employees may login to CruzPay to begin reporting hours on September 3, 2008.  For the pay period ending August 31, these staff should use their existing Student Affairs portal timesheet submission method.  Come on in; we're happy to have you on board!

08/22/08 - Staff Data Updates

We are in the process of updating CruzPay data for some staff employees. This does not affect the integrity of your timesheet data, your ability to make entries on your timesheet, save your timesheet, or submit your timesheet. However, if you see anything out of the ordinary, please email cruzpay_help@ucsc.edu and we will respond promptly on Monday August 25th. Note that this has no impact on student employees.

08/01/08 - Staff Timesheet Reminder E-mail

We apologize for this error. Unsubmitted July timesheets will not be considered past due until August 6th.

06/06/2008 - Successful Student Employee Rollout!

Approximately 2000 student timesheets were submitted and approved by supervisors in CruzPay for the April 24 - May 23 pay period.  These timesheet hours were processed by Staff HR timekeepers for payment on the June 6, 2008 payroll cycle.  As always, any questions regarding your pay should be directed to Staff HR.  Click here to locate your timekeeper.

05/27/08 - Campus E-mail Problems

Per ITS, the campus is currently experiencing problems with sending and receiving e-mail. If you need help logging into CruzPay, the best way to reach us this morning is by phone; call 459-3880. We will be checking voice mail constantly, and will get back to you as quickly as possible. Also, we are attempting to respond to e-mails we received over the weekend; however, most of our e-mail responses are failing due to the e-mail system problem. We will continue to attempt responding as we receive information from ITS that the e-mail problem is resolved. If you had contacted us over the weekend and have not received a response, please contact via phone this morning.

05/15/08 - Supervisor functionality restored

Supervisor functionality has been restored as of 8:15 am.

05/14/08 - Supervisor functionality issues

Some supervisors are currently experiencing a lack of functionality related to supervisor duties. We are working on the issue with the vendor, and will update this location as soon as more information is available.

05/12/2008 - CruzPay unavailable 05/13 4:00 - 7:00 AM

Please be advised that CruzPay production will be unavailable for a scheduled upgrade on Tuesday 05/13 from 4:00 - 7:00 am Pacific Time.  We expect the system to be online by 7:00 am, and will update this message that morning if there are any changes.

05/08/2008 - Student employees now using CruzPay

As of 04/24/2008, student employees began using CruzPay and are now entering their hours electronically.  Approximately 2600 accounts were distributed to eligible student employees and any supervisors who were not already using the system.  Click here for detailed information on this rollout.  Overall response is positive, and we are very pleased it is going smoothly.  Reminder that FAQs are available, and user support is standing by if you need assistance. 05/01/2008 - Intermittent errors when using CruzPay

Due to hardware issues at the hosting site for CruzPay, and increased load due to end of the month time entry, we are currently experiencing intermittent proxy and application errors. The vendor is aware of this situation, and working diligently to correct it. If you receive an error, please try again, as the server load constantly fluctuates.

4/22/2008 - CruzPay Welcomes Student Employees!

Student employees scheduled to begin using CruzPay for the April 24 - May 23 pay period have been sent their CruzPay UserID and initial password via e-mail.  Not all student employees will be using CruzPay; click here for detailed information on this rollout, and groups included. Student employees may login to CruzPay to begin reporting hours on THURSDAY, APRIL 24.  For the pay period ending April 23, students should use their existing (prior to CruzPay) timesheet submission method.  Come on in; we're happy to have you on board!

04/21/2008 - Informational E-mail Sent to Supervisors

On 04/21/2008 an e-mail was sent to all current CruzPay supervisors, announcing that CruzPay-eligible student employees have received accounts.  This includes information for supervisors who currently, or may in the future, supervise student employees.  You can find the text of the email here.

02/07/2008 - Student Employees to begin using CruzPay

CruzPay will be taken offline for a patch on Tuesday 02/05/2008 from approximately 5:00 - 6:30 AM. This patch should allow users to run reports for 02/29/2008.

10/27/2007 - System Upgrade SUCCESS!

On 10/27/2007, the ETAS Team successfully upgraded the CruzPay software to version 6.2.5.4. This upgrade should be transparent for the end user. As of 11:45, CruzPay is back online and available for use. Let us know immediately at cruzpay_help@ucsc.edu if you encounter any issues.

10/25/2007 - Electronic Workflow now Live!

We have completed our phasing work for Electronic Workflow. If you use CruzPay for your time reporting needs, your supervisor should now be approving your timesheet online!

10/18/2007 - CruzPay Unavailable 10/27/2007

The CruzPay system will be unavailable on Saturday, October 27 as we upgrade to a new release of the software. We expect the downtime to last all day Saturday.

10/01/2007 - September Submit Email Correction

Employees who had not yet submitted their September timesheet received a Submit Reminder email this morning.  In the email, we inadvertently indicated that there were no holidays in September. This was strictly a text error, and all eligible employees will still receive the 09/03 Labor Day holiday as normal. 07/18/2007 - CruzPay Outage 07/26 at 3:00 pm

At 3:00 pm on Thursday, July 26, CruzPay will be taken off-line for additional system maintenance related to the upcoming Electronic Workflow roll-out. Maintenance will be complete by 8:00 am on Friday, July 27. For further details, click here.

06/25/2007 - CruzPay Outage at 3:00 pm

At 3:00 pm on Tuesday, June 26, CruzPay will be taken off-line for preliminary system maintenance related to the upcoming Electronic Workflow roll-out. Maintenance will be complete by 8:00 am on Wednesday, June 27. For further details, click here.

01/31/2007 - Browsers and the Upgrade

If you are experiencing issues with CruzPay, please check the system requirements page here. We've received calls from users reporting problems with their timesheet, as well as printing the Attendance Leave Use Record, due to using outdated or unsupported browsers. 01/27/2007 - System Upgrade SUCCESS!

On 01/27/2007, the ETAS Team successfully upgraded the CruzPay software to version 6.2.2. This upgrade was in preparation for future functionality, and should be generally transparent for the end user. Let us know immediately at cruzpay_help@ucsc.edu if you encounter any issues.

Peak Times in CruzPay

If you choose to enter the majority of your time on the last day of the month, or the first day of the new month, be aware that there may be periods of slowness as more users attempt to enter their time. Be proactive, and your experience will be much smoother!
